Less than an hour west of Richmond and nestled in the heart of Cumberland State Forest, Bear Creek Lake is the perfect getaway for the outdoor enthusiast. Activities center on the park's 40-acre lake complete with a boat launch, fishing pier, boat rentals and swimming beach. The park offers camping, an archery range, lakeside picnicking, bike rentals, playgrounds, hiking and access to a 14-mile multi-use trail in the state forest. The park is surrounded by the 16,000-acre Cumberland State Forest, which provides opportunities for a wide range of outdoor activities. Four small lakes in the state forest are managed by the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries for recreational fishing. A network of gated and ungated forest roads provides hiking, mountain biking and nature observation. The Virginia Department of Forestry also operates a sporting clays range in the Cumberland State Forest. Note: There is no cell phone signal in the park. A pay phone is located in Campground A.

This new 140 acre park sits on the Chickahominy River near its confluence with the James River, a major tributary of the Chesapaeake Bay. Dramatic river vistas and the rural character of the area help set Chickahominy Riverfront park apart from many similarly sized local or county parks. The park shoreline is edged with bald cypress trees and the river’s abundant fish, birds, and other wildlife, draw thousands of hunters, fishermen, and other nature enthusiasts each year.

Camping, fishing, cabin rentals, a country store and retreats are available in this lake-front resort located in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains just off the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Our campground is available for tent camping as well as campers, RVs and trailers needing full hook-ups. We also have cabins for rent featuring beautiful views of the mountains and our private lake. You can rent our rustic Lakeview cabin, our Pioneer cabin, one of our Mt. View duplex rentals or our new Seven Ridges cabin that offer breathtaking views of the nearby mountains. The pavilion can be used for church retreats, family reunions or other group events.

Pine Grove Campground is located on 37 acres of overgrown woods filled with yellow pine trees. There are six ponds that serve as a sanctuary for over 50 different species of ducks, geese, swans, pheasants, and other wildlife. There is a public boat ramp and crabbing dock within walking distance of the campground. You are only a few minutes away from the town, doctors, shopping and the Assateague National Seashore and Wildlife Refuge that has miles of wild beach and nature trails, where Chincoteague Ponies roam free.

We offer tent and RV sites, full hookups, bath house, rental cabin, and rental renovated farmhouse. Activities include hiking, biking, or horseback riding area trails, fishing, canoeing and kayaking, visiting the many local antique and crafts shops, galleries, and museums. Taking a leisurely drive on the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway is also a favorite passtime. Many festivals with bluegrass and oldtime mountain music, art and crafts displays, and food are also held throughout the year.
